Serves as team lead and Contracting Officer providing advice, guidance and expertise to the assigned Branch Chief and the Chief of Contracting. Serves as Team Leader to individuals who are engaged in performing professional, technical, or administrative work. Serves as Contracting Specialist interfacing with South Pacific Division staff to assist the Chief of Contracting in the procurement of Construction, Services, A/E Services, and Supply vehicles in support of regional efforts. Participates in operational planning with top management and key operating officials, in order to advise on the contracting implications of proposed management decisions, and to recommend alternatives based on contracting considerations. Oversees the processing of contract claims and disputes arising under the Contract Disputes Act. Trains, mentors and leads lower graded staff, by delegating tasks, reviewing work and having an overall understanding of the status of all actions assigned to them.
