Human Resources Specialist (Military)
Brief Description of Duties: Serves as advisor to commanders on assigned unit human resources (HR) programs. Interprets policy and provides procedural guidance to commanders, supervisors, and staff members. Provides guidance and assistance on unit program(s) for which responsible. Provides training to supervisors on all military human resources issues. Analyzes data and subsequent determinations regarding any number of human resources matters that may involve or affect AGRs, drill status guardsmen, and/or family members. Advises supervisors or managers within unit when actions may affect productivity or mission. Reviews and facilitates all required documentation for all ANG accession packages. Provides tracking, and schedules all enlistment/appointment activities. Conducts weekly AFRISS-TF housekeeping once paperwork has been verified and approved by ROM. Provides monthly updates to the enlistment log, and tracks all pending applicants. Compiles with ANGI 36-2002, ANGI 36-2602, AFI 48-123, and all other applicable guidance as applicable.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Experience, education or training which involves the exercise of analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and personal responsibility, and application of a substantial body of knowledge of principles, concepts and practices applicable to one or more fields of administration or management SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
FOR GS-07: Must have at least Twelve (12) months experience, education, or training involving the administering, delivering, maintaining, advising, and adapting basic concepts, principles, and theories of Human Resources to the unique organizational, management, and mission requirements.
FOR GS-09: Must possess at least Twenty-four (24) months' of specialized experience involving the administering, delivering, maintaining, advising, and adapting basic concepts, principles, and theories of Human Resources to the unique organizational, management, and mission requirements.
MINIMUM MILITARY RANK: E-3/A1C
MAXIMUM Military Rank: E-6/TSgt

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements
Other requirements: For positions requiring a security clearance the applicant must be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
