As an IT Specialist (Data Management), you will: Perform full range of project management activities. Manage multiple data projects or tasks through the systems development life cycle from project initiation, through requirements, design and development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and retirement, using a standard methodology. Lead project staffs responsible for managing, administering, developing, and/or maintaining information technology software applications. Coordinate project activities in order to ensure that efforts are initiated and completed on schedule and within budgets. Develop and maintain project plans. Support all OCC customers for assigned area of responsibility, including troubleshooting of problems on a daily basis. Inform customers of the direction of department initiatives and provide training as needed. Lead the development of ETL processes for staging data into and out of the Enterprise Data Warehouse. This includes developing staging in and staging out packages that are aligned with OCC standards and are completely documented. Communicate with both OCC business units and IT management as it relates to project risks/issues. Identify project risks with strategies to overcome the risks that are acceptable to Business Unit contacts and IT management.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.  ANDSELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS:  Candidates must possess the following Selective Placement Factor to be considered qualified for the position. Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise data management and data analytics - including associated principles, concepts and methodologies - combined with the ability to apply data management techniques to meet OCC business and information management needs for data requirements definition, data analysis, data architecture, aggregation, and reporting. Documented experience as a data projects lead for information technology projects or work-streams on projects with high levels of technical complexity and/or data integration requirements and/or an enterprise-wide data management initiative.  AND Specialized experience: you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the OCC NB-IV grade level. The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized experience for this position includes:  a proven record of leading data projects in a medium-to-large organization with demonstrated knowledge of data project inception, costing, design/development and implementing in a production environment.  Demonstrated experience of identifying, tracking and documenting risks, as well as, communicating the project status and risks to both business unit contacts and IT management.
